I have just had to complete some local searches; easily done online these days.
What surprised me was this:

I think you'd need to see the plans... it says "conversion of part ground floor" which could mean providing a stairwell to flats above.

The plans still have the front part of the ground floor as A1 use (retail).

A good point, James. I found the proposals quite interesting. They include a lift amongst other things.
It looks like they have designed six quite cool flats, and will retain the ground floor and basement at the front, for retail use. The rear will have the ground floor as retail space too.
I have never had the pleasure of visiting Los Toreros but it seems quite a unique place. It would be nice to think that if this goes ahead, they might simply relocate elsewhere in the triangle.
