This is just a quick note to let members know that we have removed a topic on a sensitive issue at the request of the topic starter.

We do our utmost to allow free discussion but we understand when it is inappropriate for some topics to remain. Sometimes the moderating team need to make these judgements for the benefit of all members but sometimes different circumstances dictate the right course of action.

If you don't know what this is about then the issue need not concern you.

If you know of the topic in question please can you avoid making any further references to it in new posts.

It's not much different from missing that article in the second column on page 10 of yesterday's paper

We commented on the topic removal for the benefit of members that had their comments removed too. I'm sure they understand why the topic starter made the request. Sometimes you just have to trust the VN team to moderate whenever required and that we don't just remove things without justification. We can't go into the details but don't let it concern you that you've missed out on something.

I think I know the thread you're referring to and agree that the topic starter's views should be paramount. I am sure the moderators have done the right thing.
