In a recent Lambeth Council document which is to replace The Unitary Development plane now called " A Local Development Frame work" They are inviting comment.
Forum addicts may wish to describe Norwood in a few sentances for a bit of fun.

The Councils version is

"Norwood is well known for its high quality of life and the pride the local people have in being residents. West Norwood has a popular town centre, with a good range of shops in a pleasant environment, while new schools and leisure facilities are a focus for community activity. Norwood’s arts attractions are popular with locals and visitors alike and its cemetery has become the ‘Highgate of the south’, an attraction which has put the area on the map."

I think one of the FORTY council spin doctors was having a bad day. "Highgate of the South" is to say the least imagantive

It's a reference to Highgate cemetery, one of the funereal wonders of London along with West Norwood. Not the area - that would, as you say, be highly imaginative.

The other famed and preserved Metropolitan cemeteries, I think, include Kensal Green and Brompton.
