Despite saying that there would only ever be one Willie Smarts, Paul Ryan has been charmed by the delights and potential of the Triangle and is opening a second branch of the very sucessful Clapham salon on the corner of Westow Hill and Gipsy Hill very soon.

Opening times will be 11 till late weekdays, and weekends.

This is fantastic news for the Triangle, and for me personally! As a customer of 18 years, it means that I will no longer have to schlep back to my original stomping ground of Clapham every six weeks for a sharp cut. Now, I'll be able just to nip up the hill on a whim.

The refit will be going on over the next few weeks, so give Paul a welcoming wave as you pass!

Is this going to be the (much discussed) corner property where the old sunbed place was?

Another Hairdressers in the Triangle! There will be more salons than estate agents soon...

Oh well, supply and demand will sort that out. Nice to see another shop filled on the triangle (esp such a prominent one). Look forward to trying it out!

I work with someone who knows the person who will be running it, and apparently it will be opening in a couple of weeks.

I saw them sticking up the signage this afternoon, so not long now.

I grew up and lived in Clapham for many years, so went to them there and then their off shoot, Willie's B when it rather nicely opened up on the street I was living on, they are really good and a great addition to the Palace.

Their website says 3 September, with a few try-out days in August! I, too, am delighted, as Paul, the owner used to cut my hair for years in the first, tiny barber's salon, a few days along from the smart 'new' one before I moved too far to warrant the trip.

PS Don't think WillisB (as opposed to WilliesB) is actually part of the same 'chain', if I'm Googling the right salon as it makes no mention of the parent company and has its own website, though you may know better, sampilger?

Willies B was started by two guys, Michael and another one, who worked Willies Smarts and spilt off to form it further along Clapham High Street

Ah, they have a rival with a very similar name on Voltaire Road in Clapham then - how confusing!
