What's really silly is that I can see that there's somebody there (in the stripy picture) - but only when I take my glasses off, at which point I'm too short-sighted to make out any details whatsoever. With glasses on - no luck. The lady works though!

Worked for me with my specs on and I'm usually rubbish at these things.

Last I saw you, SL, you had what might be the forum's best hair! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
On the other hand, if that's a more recent pic of you in your avatar, I can see why you are having some haircutting urges. ;)

More seriously, I know what you mean. Weird hair urges are quite normal. When my mom was undergoing chemo and lost her hair, I thought it would be an uplifting and amusing act of solidarity if I shaved my hair too, just for a while. I chickened out, but later wished I'd done it.

Ooh you are kind :) Since you saw me it has just had a tweak re hue, so nothing uber drastic.

My recent avatar pic was courtesy of CitM - I am hoping it isn't supposed to be a likeness!! (actually, better change it in case anyone thinks it is me  )

Relax. It was the end of the evening when CitM took that picture. Normally you don't look anything like that!

Mock cardigan/jumper 'layer garments' i.e. ones where the 'jumper' or 'cardigan' has some material sewn into it to make it look like you are wearing a blouse or top underneath.
What are those all about?
They seem to defeat the point(s) of cardigans and jumpers, namely that you can take them off if you get hot and also you can wash the undergarment/top but don't need to wash the woolly every time you wear it.

Just thought I heard on the radio that 76 year old Engelbert Humperdink will be representing the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest..

You really can't make it any clearer that 'this is one arrangement we have no intention of winning and having the hassle of organising next year'... :D
