It's not perfect though. Some of the navigation is clunky and actually worse than the V+ experience. I'm also not using the TiVo features to their full extent. I'm finding the recommendations engine to be a bit unsophisticated but maybe that's because I haven't rated enough programmes yet and I haven't got to grips with the nuances between giving a programme 1, 2 or 3 thumbs.
There's a lot they could do to improve the interface. The design is far from beautiful compared to those of consoles and other media servers on the market. I do think that's important as devices begin to converge more. So, my view is that it's a definite improvement on the V+ box but it has plenty of room for development.

Charlie, we have had problems over last weekend and into this week, lost broadband for a couple of hours here and there, we are just up the road from you too!! Husband and son's are holding a crises meeting which will probably involve a move back to Sky, I am not arsed either way as I spend most of my time in my servants quarters (the conservatory) watching freeview whilst crafting/painting etc.
Post of the day Posie.
I am finding it infuriating especially when I have a deadline to meet and can't send emails double grrr.
Never used to have these problems - I am sure something is going on.
I've had no problems this week Charlie. I've found that since getting a superhub from Virgin Media a few months back, my broadband connection has been much more reliable. I'm sure I won't be immune from outages that affect the whole area but at least now, I don't have to reboot my modem all the time.
We just have a wireless thing which is white box called "Netgear" and a small black box - never had any real problems with continuity of broadband service in the past apart from when my firewall decided that the internet connection was a bad thing and put a block on it. Norton very kindly sorted it out for us over the phone ( they called me back) but as a precaution we have an Apple now.
What is a superhub please Gekko ?

It's basically a combined modem and router. I have a Virgin Media one too. I was getting loads of problems a few weeks ago and rebooting it 2 or 3 times a day but service has been good now for about 3 or 4 weeks.
I like the TiVo box but then I didn't have a recorder before it so nothing to compare it with.
