Can anyone recommend a decent off licence in and around the CP area? Our local corner shop has a great selection but I'm off some nice Ports and Whiskey's

I think there maybe one on Church Street but can't remember if its any good.

Any suggestion would be most welcome

The one in Church Road is the best stocked in the triangle, though we had stopped going a while back as you could never rely on it being open. I have noticed that it is open all the time just lately.

Must admit Sainsburys has the best selection of ports in the area !

But if you are looking for proper vintage ports that need decrusting etc then you will need to visit someone like laithwaites etc

At xmas you cant go wrong with an LBV though as its ready to go ,i only open my good stuff on special occasions etc !

PS looking to purchase a 1958 Constantinos Vintage Port for my collection at the mo funny enough !

Would have thought Sainsburys was a given Mr. D?. And particularly seeing as the OP asked for an OFF LICENCE not a supermarket.

6/10 See me. Must try harder.

See you tonight sweetcheeks. Hugs

Just to add that if you go to the one on Church Road, it doesn't take cards. I thought, if you're in the market for port and the like, the bill might come to more than the cash you have on you. I have seen someone paying HEAPS in cash there. They just will not do cards for any amount.

They might take cards now, I've not been there in months, but either call ahead and check or take a wad of cash.
