Hi Mods,

Where is the search function please? I am looking for a very old thread from 2006 which was the Virtual Norwood Monopoly poll and discussion about what should go on the board. Remember that??

But I can't find the search function. Guidance much appreciated please.

Thanks,

Not to worry - I've just clicked on the BIG RED BUTTON and it has taken me through to search. Almost as exciting as going through the square window on Play School. :)

That's strange. I can see the search function on the top right of my page. However, I think the forum is pretty screwy at present regarding functionality :(.

Anyone else not seeing the search box?

Matt has said he'll try and look at the 'edit' problem at the weekend so maybe we can table some other things too!

Thanks Gekko - as a non techie - it wasn't obvious to me that the BIG RED BUTTON needed to be hit.

Perhaps you could do a screen grab to show us what we should be seeing if you have a spare moment please.

Really pleased though that MattVN as resolved the date formatting issue for Upcoming Calendar Events which is a very welcome improvement to the forum.

I can see the search box top right but I can't see any big red button. . . I think the mobile or desktop option at the bottom can change functionality?

Thanks Gekko - Am I seeing what you are seeing above??

A big RED ROUND BUTTON which says NO Permission?? Naturally the No Permission Button has lured me in but it just taking me to a error message which says:

"Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available."

I'll log into the Apple later to see whether the problem is just with my laptop.

Yes, I can Gekko but not the box around search and gallery and not sure why anyone would automatically hit the red button to take them to the forum search page. It doesn't seem obvious to me.

Thanks for posting.

I rebounced the 'Another budget supermarket' thread the other day by using the search facility and had no probs with it.
I think it depends which browser you use as they come up different.

Good point Hermie. What browser are you using Charlie? I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

yes, chrome is a browser. you can download it here [link]

VN's search has been bobbins for a long time. As an alternativeI use a google to do a 'site' search of the VN forum
eg to search for monopoly I'd type the following into google

site:http://www.virtualnorwood.com/forum monopoly

The above tells google to do a 'site' search of vn forum and look for the word monopoly. It brought up a few useful links, the best one being a wiki page created for the 2006 monopoly board [link] with all the links you need (i think)

Bobbins kind of means rubbish. Commonly used by Mancunians.
