Does anyone know the location of this sculpture please. The photo was taken in Paris in 2009 and I am pretty sure it was in one of the well known parks. Any info on location, artist etc. gratefully received.

No idea, but it looks as if the figure is trying very hard not to laugh!

I am pretty sure that's in le Jardin du Luxembourg

It's called Le Prophète and its by Louis Derbré

Thank you RachelF - I thought it might be Le Jardin du Luxembourg from the avenue of horse chestnut trees in the background but needed confirmation.

Sadly Louis Derbré passed away last year but I am really pleased to have discovered more about him, the sculpture and his other works. Thanks.

Louis Derbré

I like the head in profile - the expression looks so different.

Imagine a sculpture like this at the top of Crystal Palace Park - now that would be an attraction.
