Uncle Wilf started the original of this thread back in 2005 but it got archived somewhere along the way.

Thought it deserved another chance - NO GOOGLIN THE ANSWERS THOUGH

Rules are: somebody gives 2 lines of lyrics and somebody else has to name the tune and the artist.

Here goes three to kick things off, no rush.......

Now I'm falling asleep
And she's calling a cab

I got a job with stanley
He said I'd come in handy

Just a castaway
An island lost at sea, oh

Continuing with the two lines from three songs format:-

Lovers watch their backs as hacks
in macs take snaps

Water dissolve and water remove
There is water at the bottom of the ocean

No one but the pure of heart
May find the Golden Grail
I make mixes, some of which are quite good. My wife and I cook things too.

Also knackered on 1 & 3 NikD so thought I'd throw a couple of easy ones into the mix - been on my brain all week:

Hans plays with Lottie
Lottie plays with Jane
Jane plays with Willie
Willie's happy again..............

And loosely "coupled" to the above:

What could he do? Should have been a rock star
But he didn't have the money for a guitar
What could he do? Should have been a politician
But he never had a proper education........

Hahaha, no, but I must've copied some weird code when I copied your name; it was, after all, quite early in the morning, and although it wasn't an insomniac night, at least one of my eyes was still glued shut...

But I can so see the link between your two artists.

The bit in Flash with those lyrics, by the way, is the slow bit towards the end, you know, the bit that goes "Just a maaa-aaan, with a man's courage..."

Peter Gabriel - Games Without Frontiers
Kate Bush - Army Dreamers

For those who don't know what Charlie and I are So banging on about, Ms Bush sang on Mr Gabriel's 1986 hit Don't Give Up, from the album So

Anyway. What songs are these then?

And ignorance and hate mourn the dead

It is believing, it is believing

And

Tell me a story about how you adore me

Live in the shadow, see through the shadow
