Thought I would start a topic on what your favourie fish of the day is.
Went down to the fishmongers in Penge and bought six plump pink snapper for ten pound.
They barbequed very well and were very fleshy.

so my fish of the day is.....pink snapper.

We had some yellowfin tuna on Saturday night, done in a sushi-esque style:- https://sites.google...sumosan-tartare and it was delicious. So my fish of the day is yellowfin tuna (which is one of the more sustainable varieties).
I make mixes, some of which are quite good. My wife and I cook things too.

I don't like fish that tastes of the sea (yeah I know I know .... I had a bad experience as a kit where I got caught up in seaweed underwater) but I quite like 'meaty' tasting fish like a tuna or swordfish steak or bit of mild tasting fish - perhaps a bit of cod fillet.

Ooh - I quite like tiny prawns and scallops too, oh and scampi fries!

That's a shame SL as kit(ties) normally go crazy for most kinds of fish, although it's best stay away from the water. :)

We had a smoked salmon and anchovy (marinated in olive oil and garlic) salad the other evening, so my fishies of the day are salmon and anchovy. The salmon was sustainable not sure about the humble anchovy though.

Our cat goes mental for prawns - can smell them a mile off.

What you need is a rent-a-cat like we have. She started coming around last autumn, a few weeks after our cat had gone, but she's clearly not a stray, as she's well fed, in fact positively porky. No, she just wants some luurrvve, she's obviously not given any attention by whoever it is who feeds her. She's currently lying at my feet, nuzzling my toes; she loves feet!

Sorry, bit off-topic, in which case, does crab count as fish of the day? I've just taken some out of the freezer to make crab cakes with tomorrow night. The recipe, you ask? Why yes, here it is:- https://sites.google...fish/crab-cakes

Hahahahaha, superb! Reminds me of a fruit and veg market in Kerala where all the stall owners had a brightly dressed mate out in front singing the praises of the fruit available. Bloody noisy, but excellent fun, especially when they spotted us Westerners, and gave us all sorts of sample of all sorts of fruit; I never knew just how many types of mango there were.

Off topic again, I know.

Yum yums, well classy! :D Even classier if it comes out of a John West tin, is spread on a crispy white bap with Walker's plain crisps sandwiched in between. It's late, very very late............. Salt & vinegar crisps make the classiest snack. ;)
