I never noticed the puns until you mentioned them.... was that your sole intention? You want puns, I'm a dab hand... I've got a grouper them (most are pollocks though).

Salmon strips warmed on french toast with swordfish head grilled and peppered finished by seaweed puree and ice cream , washed down with brandy and port .

Tried this for a mid-afternoon snack. Gave me the squids something dreadful :(

No problem. Wouldn't want you to get a dickie tunny too. :)

Didn't I see you drinking outside the Albert this week? I was just passing walking down the alleybut I may have been mistaken.

Not me, I've been stuck indoors ill. Started with a pain in my shell like which led to a total loss of herring in one ear. Clammy sweats and a thumping haddock left me floundering.

Hahahahaha, superb! Reminds me of a fruit and veg market in Kerala where all the stall owners had a brightly dressed mate out in front singing the praises of the fruit available. Bloody noisy, but excellent fun, especially when they spotted us Westerners, and gave us all sorts of sample of all sorts of fruit; I never knew just how many types of mango there were.

Off topic again, I know.

Kerala what a place, if you love your fish or seafood its the only place I have ever been to that has big huge stalls of muliti coloured and sizes of fish that I had to prod to see if they where real, because they looked surreal! Absolutley amazing food, (and I never use the word amazing for anything)!!

I bought some reduced priced Hake today as a sustainable alternative to cod. I did it in the oven with a pasta sauce kinda thing over the top with some olives and capers thrown in for good measure. It was actualy very nice so I've named it 'Hermies Hake and caper bake'

So my fish of the day is....................Hake.

Yes indeed Andy, I'd move to Kochi like a shot, and have already started plotting to retire there. We've been there a few times now, and absolutely love it. Did you ever go to Brunton Boatyard? The three course fish dinner there was one of the most amazing meals I've ever had in my life. And at the other end of the scale, the tiny workmen's caff on the square by the boat terminus on Vypeen Island where we had fried snappery things with a veggie thali for £2 each was, well, also one of the most amazing meals I've ever had in my life. The freshest fish, cooked by people who so know their stuff, in such a great setting. Lovely!
I make mixes, some of which are quite good. My wife and I cook things too.
