After being wonderfully entertained by the Sax Pastilles in the Grape and Grain we decided on impulse to drop into Yamas yesterday evening, and we were so glad we did!

The decor is pretty similar to its previous identity - Caribbean in style. No windows but a relaxed, warm feel to the place. The menu is a mixture of hot and cold tapas and grills - not Spanish but a mixture of Mediterranean and Caribbean style. We chose to share some Halloumi Cheese, King Prawns, Orange & Coriander Spiced Chicken Skewers with satay sauce and Jerk Chicken & Thyme Balls - all absolutely delicious. We were also treated to some Houmous, Taramasalata and mixed olives gratis which were equally scrumptious, all washed down with some very good red wine.

The place was fairly empty (maybe because it is slightly off the triangle a few yard down the hill) - just one other couple eating - but the staff were friendly and chatty and we had a good old chinwag with a succession of DJs that turned up to play some very good soul (live DJ Fri/Sat/Sun nights), R was in seventh heaven. You can also pop in for a drink at the bar if you don't want to eat necessarily.

We will definitely be returning soon.

Another thumbs up for Yamas - we went there after the G&G on Sunday, knowing it would be pretty much empty due to the England/Italy match, we still fancied some of their fayre nonetheless. Very good food again, we had the King Prawns, Chicken and Sate Sauce, Chicken & Thyme Meatballs with Spicy Sauce and Grilled Mushrooms/Tomatoes. Scrumptious! They threw in some free Spicy Chicken Wings too that R rated highly. Lovely people, lovely grub.

Mmm sounds really tasty - I am definitely up for a forage (even though I've just had lunch!)
