I have been informed that dozens of brass memorial plaques, including some that were identified as stolen from West Norwood Cemetery, were found at a scrap metal dealers in Croydon. Police arrested two people, including a scrap dealer who was caught in the act of breaking them up. We look forward to their prosecution. This news was also picked up by BBC Kent

This is finally some good news about a very depressing, long-standing set of mercenary crimes.

I understand their names are being witheld.
I am pretty sure that the Kosher scrap metal dealers would be round there in an instant to mete out some rough justice if they knew.
