It does seem that they think that putting a positive spin on the wording will dupe the sheep like public into believing that they are not being inconvenienced with no financial recompense :(

I don't suppose you know if this will effect their kids summer holiday play scheme (Kool Krew)? I'm counting on that!

I just saw a poster in the gym that says you can apply for the Kool Krew places from the 18th june on. BUT it only starts 16th August indeed...

Could have been better handled, but we must all bow in the face of the Olympic behemoth....

I would. I've watched every Olympics since 1984 and I'm a complete sports nut! We very nearly flew to Athens in 2004 to sample he atmosphere and see whatever we could, but mrs Elmo ruined it by proposing to me and the money went on a wedding... Selfish behaviour on her part.

Sport is great. Olympics though is just a corporate takeover, sorry Elmo.

I can still see the sport. In the middle. Like a guiding flame.

Well said Elmo. I do hope the Olympics itself goes well. I was really quite excited when I first heard London had got it but since then apart from some of architecture and landscaping it's been a slow disillusionment. Hopefully will change once the games begin.

This thread is going places...Mmmmm "I'm lovin it". The power of having a proven business system.

Apparently "the Magic Arch is something you can see from miles away and it is now in every corner of the world." Located on some prime real estate sites - some of them with paid with London tax payers money?

Still, corporate Smörgåsbord apart - can't wait for the Olympics - even though as Londoners we'll only be watching it on TV. Had an invite to join the Crystal Palace Beach Volley Ball down at the NSC. I think they must have got the wrong person

I regret joining Crystal Palace Recreation Centre - I have been now on three different weekends and the pools have been closed to "the public". I just received an email about the Brazilian Olympic squad, which I intrepreted as a polite "stay away", but I admit I read it in a bit of a mood.
