I am looking to procure a community website for a project I am working on. If you are a local web designer that can offer logo design, branding and all the technical stuff, and are interested in being considered for quoting please could you either post your business details i.e. website on Virtual Norwood or message me directly to find out more.
Or, if you know of any local web designers which you would be happy to recommend then please post details of those too.
Many thanks.

There are more than a few talented website designers who frequent the cpfc.org fora : if VN is not fertile you may want to ask the question there as well...
Thanks Maz
Well you know where I am Cgarlie
if you need the wonders of logos and the arty side of things - sadly no website expertise is gonna be upon us until I have learnt WordPress whenever I get a chance - quite happy to team up with a developer if that helps.
I do indeed Twinkle

Jane - do you have a network of devs you can draw on? If not, I think you should consider it as your excellent graphic design skills coupled with some first rate coding would be a compelling proposition.

Yes I think working alongside a developer does sound like the better optio but obviously I am slightly biast! But as I say Charlie I am available - work is steady so can fit in some quick ideas and a quote if you drop me an email if you haven't found an expert in both fields yet - rather intrigued by the project so do tell all.......

My recommendation would be to team Jane up with a good developer if you want a great website. I've worked in digital since the late 90s and believe me, it's rare to find people who are excellent at both design and development. Most people specialise in one and have a few skills in the other. If you only need basic website functionality, you could go with a designer who can do a bit of coding and CMS work. Otherwise, hire a company or duo who have experts in both disciplines. Also, ensure that the person/people you hire have experience of UX (user experience) design as well as graphics, information architecture and SEO. After all, a pretty site that contains great code is no use if people can't find your site or navigate through it.
Thanks Gekko - great advice particularly about navigation which is really key.
Thanks Gekko

Hi Twinkle - it's a great project and I am very excited. As some of you will know I am a member of the newly formed Crystal Palace Park Community Stakeholder Group which was established in March 2012.
One of our key duties is to establish a Crystal Palace Park community led website to promote and raise awareness of our park, and the fantastic resource that it is for the community and wider public.
The group is currently seeking and applying for grant funding to procure the website, and we will soon be shortlisting and seeking quotations from local website designers for its design and implementation in accordance with the specification and design brief which we have prepared (all in our free time). It is just being finalised now.
One of the key aspects of the website and its design will be the ability to be able to expand and further develop the website in the future. For example one of the ideas we would like to implement longer term is to perhaps set up some wildlife webcams in the park which people can view on the website. Just an idea at present and one which ofcourse needs looking into further.
The group is also very keen to ensure that any monies arising from grants we apply for and are successful in obtaining, is spent in the local economy around the park and with local SMEs.
I do hope that you and others will be encouraged to get involved.

I'm a seasoned developer who would be interested in hearing more about this. My portfolio here features mainly Flash content but I am skilled in most other major web coding. http://www.981delux.com
Feel free to get in touch
Many thanks

I love the banner campaign for the BBC Poetry Season and love this too but fear it would drive me mad at full volume - great site though One Hundred Months.
