Is Unicum that black tar like stuff? If so, it;s about all I can remember from the trip......Oh, and maybe a bit of goulash. Meat lovers paradise. Stayed on an island in the Danube (St. Margarets?) Brilliant spa pools, they love it over there. Great vibe to the place, but dont call them Eastern European, they hate that...

Ah yes - forgot to say that. Goulash Soup and Paprikash Chicken on EVERY menu board, it became a game to try to find somewhere that wasn't selling them! St Margaret's Island is lovely, no cars and lovely grounds/trees - we sat with our (very hot) feet dangling in the huge musical fountain structure at the entrance to the park that changes the fountain patterns in time to classical music, little realising that every half hour or so the fountain pattern fiendishly changes direction to shower all those sitting or standing nearby :o

Didn't sample the unicum but tried the many fruit liqueurs :)

Robin hood Bay & whitby nearby as well

I love Whitby, it's one of those classic old skool English seaside towns. Great fish'n'chips, splendid sea front walks, and the whole Dracula thing...
I make mixes, some of which are quite good. My wife and I cook things too.

Just spotted this SL... I've been to the Albania side of lake Ohrid, which was lovely. My brother in law has been to the Macedonian side, I'll ask how it was.

On our way back from the absolutely lovely Cornish fishing village of Fowey - stayed in a very pretty little boutique hotel called Upton House and ate one of the best meals of my life in the Bistro restaurant. Highly recommended.

Hi, embedded inside the Casa Cuba building (99 Church Road), you will find your local tour operator. Notice that I do not say Travel Agent but Tour Operator. When you buy from a travel agent, you are restricted to buy, say, a Thomas Cook package (tour operator) for which the Travel Agent gets a commission The job is to offer many options from different tour operators. This business model is now quite old and in decline.
On the other side, you now have many specialist tour operators which means you are buying directly from the organiser so you would normally get a better price and also a better service because the tour operator is responsible for "everything".
Live Holidays can organise holidays to Vietnam, Mexico and many other long-haul destinations. Cuba? of course ... for Cuba holidays refer to www.cubadirect.co.uk. To discuss your requirements, please call 020 7148 3042 or go to Casa Cuba (Cafe & Bar) and arrange an appointment (note that you do need an appointment specially in January and February).
Sorry about blabbing about the difference between a travel agent and a tour operator but it is really important information - :)

On our way back from the absolutely lovely Cornish fishing village of Fowey - stayed in a very pretty little boutique hotel called Upton House and ate one of the best meals of my life in the Bistro restaurant. Highly recommended.

Updated to add - the lady who owns the hotel (Angelique, who we subsequently found out from a local won the Bristol Come Dine With Me thingie) brought in a surprise for breakfast on our last day when she found out it was a BIG birthday for me. She arrived from the kitchen with a home made toffee and banana cake complete with candles and 2 glasses of champagne. Now THAT's what I call service!
