So I was glad to notice that the council had finally replaced the missing/dilapidated street signs for Waldegrave Rd this morning.

I was slightly surprised however, to see that they had spelled the street name incorrectly. The brand spanking new street signs now proudly declare it as "Waldergrave Road".

Frustrating that the council could make such a schoolboy error. Do you think it is worth my bringing it to their attention, or do you think I should just put up with it, and be happy to have any street signs at all? I was hoping maybe if I alerted them soon enough, they would be able to get the contractor to replace the signs for free, without further cost to the council.

Hi there. I also live on Waldegrave Road but haven't seen the new signs yet. I think we should definitely complain and get them changed as soon as possible.

Agree - Definitely complain - how on earth am I going to find my way to the station in the morning.

I feel sorry for whoever signed it off (no pun intended). Perhaps when they change it over they'll let you keep it as a momento.

Definitely call them on it!
That's pedantry with a point. They absolutely need to get the spelling right, as future mapping, postal delivery, etc depends on correct string-recognition in geographic informatics.

A few of the signs around the triangle have spelt Gipsy Hill incorrectly. They have spelt it Gypsy. What fools!

Has anyone complained and heard back from the council on this? I filled in the form on the website last week but haven't heard a thing.

[Facepalm!]

I reported the absence several weeks ago and they promised to provide new signs. Glad that they've acted on it; not so glad that they can't be bothered to check a map, first.

I have notified officers and asked the to fix the problem.

Fabulous, thanks very much Tom. I still haven't heard back from anyone so good to know you are on the case :).
