Oh dear, don't review any more new places for a while... until the curse has lifted!

It was closed for a week but seems to have reopened. Well, some days it is open when I've gone past.

I noticed it had a "stage door" sign on the side entry door - the place seems to have been open most evenings - think there were a couple of doormen on the step sat eve but I was a bit tiddled

I wasnt tiddled - couple of doormen outside tonight and a fair gaggle going in with tickets - didnt look like an early closing - hope theyre within their license - better open than closed

Good afternoon all,

Going forwards expect to see our doors wide open, serving the best Caribbean food in the area along with some of our fantastic Cocktails & Wines at great prices.

We have some exciting events planned for this year such as Family Sundays, Soulful Sundays, Live Music Nights, Comedy Shows, Film Club, games nights, fundraising events and lots more.

Our daily Eat-as-much as you want buffet continues with a bigger and better selection for 2013.

The Restaurant is a very family and child friendly environment, with FREE bouncy castle for children on a Sunday between 12 pm to 4 pm whilst parents eat & relax.Later in the evening the adults come out to play at Soulful Sundays, with DJs playing the best in Soul old and new from 7 pm till close. Chill out kick back and enjoy some of the finest cocktails & food in Crystal Palace.

Our bar is also open for those who want to come out and relax without buying food, however if your feeling peckish why not try one of our platters or quick boxes.

We also offer take-aways.

Hope to see you all soon  ;)

Kind regards

Se19 Restaurant & Bar

This is a little advert from se19 bar and restaurant giving you a little information on what we offer and have planned for the future;

We have recently acquired a Pool Table (Making us the only place on the Crystal Palace Triangle with one) and we are in the process of bringing in a Fusball Table and a Table Tennis table for those looking for somewhere to hang out and socialise with friends; offering a more relaxing yet enjoyable lounge atmosphere to our already established restaurant & bar. In addition to this we have also extended our menu from the traditional Caribbean dishes; we are now offering Burgers (chicken, turkey, Beef, Lamb & veggie), Hotdogs (Chicken or Beef), Steaks, Wraps, Salads and more.

All events are subject to our licensing hours; If an event is required beyond our licensed time it will require us putting in for a TEN (temporary event notice). A TEN is required for any event where alcohol will be sold or suplied, or entertainment is provided in extension to our licensed hours.

Anything else do not hesitate to come in and talk to a member of staff.

Kind regards

Um, but unsure about putting this on here as the owners & staff do seem nice, but we went for a quick dinner here on Saturday and it was, well, a disappointment really. We'd been meaning to try it out for ages as we both love Jamaican food but I don't thik we'll be trying it again.

The jerk chicken was passable, v spicy but tbh nothing special, the rice & peas again, was ok but nothing to write home about. I'm pretty sure I can do something slightly better at home. We were the only people eating in there at 7.30pm on a Saturday night, the place was quite empty. Apart from the "Best of Shabba Ranks" cd playing, there wasn't really any Carribean vibe at all! (Surely you ca do better than Shabba?)

We ordered a mojito from the bar before we read the blackboard above the bar which stated that the mojito is made with "rum and mojito mix"! If you are offerering cocktails then at least learn how to make them properly, especially in CP where you can get a pretty decent "proper" mojito in a number of other bars! My other half saw the bartender topping the glass up with Sprite(!), it was by far the worst mojito I've ever had.

Maybe we should try it again when the buffet is on, maybe we should try it again with a gang of us instead, but I don't think it will be on the list of places we take visitors to show them how great CP is. Which is a huge shame.

PS - slapping flyers on the table to tell us about your kareaoke night whilst we are trying to eat our food is actually a bit rude too!
