The Albert? I want to like the Albert but it doesnt really appear to want to be liked anymore.

It's such a pity, I love the look of the place, it's so my kind of pub, but it's quite clearly dying on it's arse.
I make mixes, some of which are quite good. My wife and I cook things too.

It could be a really good pub I think , its shape, size, where it sits on the triangle etc

- maybe it should be taken over by a consortium of posters on here - I can see Dazza in charge of the beer, NikDevlin on the decks (thats decks not deck!), Cit M in charge of pub games, MickeyBoy doing the livery/signs - any other suggestions?

Uncle Wilf as the invisible old man in the corner, Andreas as the regular who incessantly talks about the weather (so very British ;) ), Nanazola as chief barmaid, Boris as pub dog (on loan), Sidders as the geezer saying it is the ONLY decent pub in a radius of 100 miles+ :D

You can use it to keep 3 wheeler buggies out as well.

Yes!! And 4 wheeled ones. And those huge double buggies with steering wheels (I kid you not!). And small yappy dogs (small un-yappy dogs welcome).

Okay, for me:

1. The Alma (good atmosphere, service, open fire, grub & beer, the closest triangle pub to my house, can be cold and noisy though)
2. Sparra (great grub, good wine and service, can lack warmth)
3. Grape & Grain (excellent beer, food not award-winning but generous portions good for soaking up beer, great service, nice dog, horrible dated decor)
4. Numidie Wine Bar (used to be a favourite when Serge owned it, now has silly tables, great for a late night drink and some good musicians)
5. I can't choose a 5th but there's perhaps a space for the White Hart if it bucks up its ideas - I haven't drunk in there for at least a year now
