My girlfriend and I are coming to the final stages of purchasing our first house together in the lower Gipsy Hill area.
We are both very excited (and not just about living a few mins walk from the Paxton pub, though that is a big bonus)!

This place has been invaluable in helping make our decision to move to Gipsy Hill, it's great to see such an active forum for the area.

I've personally lived in SE post codes my entire life, so it's nice to be getting to buy a first house in an area of London I'm already somewhat familiar with.

Hopefully I'll have something of value to add to this forum at some point!

Dreddnarz, there is soooooo much more to your new neighbourhood than the Paxton!
Have fun exploring it all and a big Welcome from a fellow Gipsyhillian :P

Very much agreed!
We have spent quite a lot of time at the weekends around Crystal Palace and Gipsy Hill while house hunting, not had a bad experience in any of the pubs and cafes we have been in so far!

Congrats - there are so many deals that seem to get stuck. It's great that you're at the last stage. I was listening to the Palace Stories podcast (www.palacestories.co.uk) earlier which really brought the area alive.
