Anyone tried it - people seem to love it or hate it.

I treated myself to a new notebook for Christmas which came with Windows 8 loaded, not finding it too bad so far, although it takes some getting used to....

One of our IT guys was telling me about it today, he has it at home and hates it, says it's bloated and clunky and full of crap you don't need. Not much different from Windows 7 by the sound of it. I've got the Pro version on my machine at work, and hate it.

I'm a Mac guy at home, natch...
I make mixes, some of which are quite good. My wife and I cook things too.

Not heading Apple way - no siree :)

It took me an hour or so to get used to it and to make it do what I wanted (I'm a quick learner) and I am finding it ok I must admit - far better than the Vista experience and I have to admit, once you personalise it and control it, easier than Windows 7 IMHO as a relative luddite.

Ah XP. Simple, easy, straight forward and rock solid ie. it didn't burst into tears and fall over if I tried to pick up email and upload some pdfs at the same time as doing a 3d render.
