Not sure why people were finding the survey difficult as it was quite straightforward. Quite a lot of projects to spread round for the £2m though and I still think things like Dinosaurs should get proper funding from the heritage lottery as its own application.

Appendix1 -Interim Projects Consultation June 2014 Findings and recommendations

http://www.london.go... Appendix 1.pdf

Delivery start dates not expected until September 2015, to allow time (and mitigate risks) for the ZRG proposals to have progressed, enabling the Board to take view on the relative risks of proceeding or retaining the funding.

Questionnaire findings

Question 2 asked respondents to prioritise spending between improvements to built heritage, park landscape, and visitor facilities:

39% said improving built heritage was their priority. This is consistent with responses to question 3 where people have voted built heritage restoration projects as the top two projects.  However, park landscape (32%) and visitor facilities (29%) followed closely, indicating that park users consider all three areas to be important; this suggests that funding should be spread equally across all three areas for park improvements .

Question 3 asked respondents to decide which of the proposed improvement projects was most important to them through a points system. The table below shows the projects in order of popularity:

(see attached table).

Thanks for posting GipsyHill and thanks to everyone who helped with the consultation and took part in the survey.

Good achievement getting 590 people to take part and I, for one, am glad the Community Stakeholder group together with other volunteers and Bromley's Community Development team pulled out all the stops to set up the consultation, encourage people to take part and to get the findings reported to the July committees of the GLA and Bromley before they take their summer break. ( especially having seen how long it takes to get anything done!)

The other highlight, ofcourse, from the Bromley Gateway report which goes to the Bromley Executive tonight for approval is the proposal to allocate £240,000 for a Community Projects Fund to be administered over the next 3 years.

The results of the consultation also confirmed that there was public support for the Community Projects Fund. The public’s ideas for how this fund should be spent, ranged from a youth club, to pony rides, to an open air cinema. Based on the ideas provided, and the public appetite to see the other larger improvement projects realised, it is recommended that a sum of £240k is set aside for this purpose.

Good news! Bromley council's Executive agreed last night to commit the £400k to Crystal Palace Park improvement projects, and to go ahead with the £240k Community Project Fund with a view to getting the scheme up and running for applications/grants in the Autumn.
