Morning Uncle Wilf

Great pub!

Do you know if the exterior of the building is listed?

Good morning Charlie and may all your blessings be prolonged. :D

 Back to normal now.

Erm the exterior being listed? I don't know... the exterior tiling is great and I have a feeling it should be listed.... because in the current climate you can see an crude re-fit happening if it became a chain pub..... heaven forbid....

Is there any way of finding out whether it's listed?

It's a great pub for the oncoming winter I think. Don't know if it works so well in the summer but a pint of Courage in there in the winter is a pleasure.

I expect James would know if it is listed otherwise I will contact the local authority - Bromley or Croydon??

Yes, an interesting pub - probably a bit too smokey for our non smoking friends but agree a great place for a pint on a winter's evening.

I went there once to watch a lunchtime footy match and as kick-off approached (12.15pm?) a rather drunk guy was arranging to get a taxi home. Not quite sure how it is possible to get that drunk so early in the day!

The Cambridge has already been sold and is staying very much as it ever was.... apart from the fact it now does London Pride instead of Courage. ;)

Some people want the moon on a stick.

Seriously, given that it now has London Pride I wondered whether it was now owned by Fuller's but I think it's still a freehouse..... I think it's more a guest ale thingy.

If you want an easy introduction a weekday early afternoon would be an ok slot. Should be a spare stool at the bar for you.

And then it's London Pride in a jug and change of two pounds.

I went in at the start of my pub crawl (chose it first as was scared of hitting it too late)
Cheap beer that tastes fine, a few locals drinking at the bar. I can recommend 4pm on a Saturday afternoon as a good time to visit. Although I was getting a few evil stares from one guy. Maybe he didn't like The Guardian!
