If you have recently received a leaflet from Bairstow Eves Countrywide you may notice they have given out their email address as uppernorwood@bairstoweves.com. However www.bairstoweves.com sells CDs not houses. They probably meant bairstoweves.co.uk. You might find it easier to call them instead.

Registered with them, and never heard from them again. They can't need the business!

I used them when I bought my flat last year. I didn't have much reason to complain until the day of completion. They were very unhelpful about me collecting the keys. They refused to meet me at the property or to drive me from their office to the flat even knowing I had no idea how to get from one place to the other. To top it all, my friend had given me flowers as a house warming. When I walked into their office to collect the keys the estate agent assumed they were for her and I didn't have the heart to correct her!

They just rang me today! 7 months after I registered - how's that for service?

And just in time for you to be able to smugly tell them that you had completed the purchase of your new home, I hope! ;)

Amanda, I don't think it's part of the deal that they meet you at the property with the keys or they take you to the property afterwards. It's normal that you turn up at the EA to collect and make your own arrangements to get to your new home. Remember the EA is working on behalf of the vendor, not the buyer so they prob don't consider it within their remit.

Agreed Gekko, but it makes good customer service sense. I doubt Amanda will be using them when she sells.

Bairstow Eves Countrywide appear to have put their own property on the market. It is being advertised by another agent (p4i) and is currently 'under offer'...

Ha! what a laugh, the heading should say Church ROAD! Seems they can't even get their own address right so not surprised they are closing.

I think Bairstow & Thieves (oops - i mean Eves) were thinking they would make a quick 'buck' from the area (its all about quick turnover - not service!) and moved in not knowing probably much about the area.

From previous experiences of 'contact' (for probate purpose!) with them they bombard me with brochures, leaflets and pretend letters of Mr & Mrs Smith interested in properties like mine....yeh right! um its obviously not 'washed' well with the palace occupants.... weldone people..... ;)

I wonder if they are just vacating their place on Church Road due to low footfall and are trying to move onto one of the Westows?

Interesting point, Matt... lets hope not though....

There's a number of vacant shop-fronts they could get hold of.

Well we all know where we'd run to in the event of an estate agent famine wouldn't we?
