DATE: Saturday 9 January 2016

TIME: 10.30am - 1.15pm

TEACHER: Zoe Edwards of So Zo...

PRICE: £55 (includes a goodie bag and celebratory drink)

WHO IS IT FOR?

This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to start using a sewing machine for the first time, or who hasn’t sewn in a while and needs a refresher.

"Tops any previous class I've been to by miles... highly recommended" - Kate

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
  • How to set up and thread a sewing machine
  • Getting to grips with stitching – tips for straight lines, curves and corners
  • Sew a simple scarf to tie around your head, neck or bag
  • Tips on getting into sewing – easy project ideas, essential tools and how to choose a sewing machine
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ALONG?

No need to bring anything with you, we’ll provide tools and sewing machines for you to use, plus fabric and thread to make your scarf. You’ll also get a goodie bag to take away with you, and at the end of the class we’ll toast your new sewing skills with a drink!

WHO IS THE TEACHER?

Zoe Edwards is the author of the sewing blog So Zo… Having graduated with a degree in Fashion Design, Zoe went on to work in the fashion industry in various roles. The distaste she developed for mass-produced clothing and production practices fuelled her growing passion for creating her own clothing by hand and she set up a now successful sewing blog that has an emphasis on sewing sustainably with style. Currently she teaches sewing, dressmaking and refashioning skills, develops her own sewing patterns and runs a regular contemporary craft market called Brighton Craftaganza. She's also the creator of the popular online challenges called Me-Made-May, which ask sewers/knitters/crocheters/refashioners to wear their hand-created clothing every day for a month with the aim of encouraging people to bring the DIY and handmade ethos into their everyday lives.
