there will definately will be a folk night if it all goes through! And poetry! Hopefully some theatrical productions too on the upstairs 'acoustic stage'.

The question mark hovering over the project is not about finance, its about council planning permission to allow this to go ahead! Fingers crossed!

Sounds great. Folk/acoustic is definitely up my street so I'll look forward to that.

Unfortunately and sadly the plans for 22 Westow Hill to become a music & arts venue have ceased to become a reality. The decision was made by Croydon Building Control to restrict the maximum capacity significantly due to fire escape issues at the rear of the building because of the new housing development which is currently being built.

I regret to say it would not be feasible for the purposes which Antenna intended even with all the architectural alterations which building control would allow.

However, the support and excitement has been tremendous and the Antenna team would like to thank everyone for your strong and kind encouragement. It has really raised an important issue about what the local community want for the area and lots of great ideas have come from this experience.

We are looking into other possible premises and also turning our focus into ensuring a longer term stability of our existing studio complex and future possibilities to enhance sustainable cultural activities in the area.

If anyone wants to approach us about related issues or ideas, we welcome your thoughts and exchange of ideas and communication! Just call into the studios on Haynes Lane or send us an email through the website.

Many thanks again

That's a great shame spaceshipman, we were looking forward to the venue opening. Hope you find somewhere else suitable for the venture.

Well that's a bugger init.

Would have really given Westow Hill a shot in the arm and would have been a cool addition to the area. Instead thanks to yet another backyard plot that does nothing but enrich a developer the long empty 22 Westow Hill will still be empty for a while yet.

The place is jinxed I tells ya!!!
