Yay, glad to hear there's one on the 31st July. Like Lilian, it's the first one I can go to as well.

I went on Sunday and thought it was great (if a bit small). We bought loads of stuff including a chilli plant which will yield 200 chillis a year if it's looked after!

I overheard one of the stall holders saying that they would be running the market on the first and third Sundays of each month so I'd guess it's been quite successful. Does anyone know anything about this?

Charlie,

I just spoke to one of the organisers of the Farmers Market. Good news - there is one tomorrow! It wil be on the top site.

During December there will be markets on 4th and 18th, but on these dates it will be a little lower down (on the same level as the museum). This is to make way for the outdoor ice rink.

I'll be the one ice skating with a big fish and a loaf of bread!

 :)

Couldn't the farmers market now be placed in the old entrance to Morrisons (in front of Blockbuster)? Seems silly them being stuck on the edge of the park when there's a huge fresh veg shopping vacuum in the centre of the triangle. And could they run the market on more days?

I agree that the market could be placed in a more prominent position and this would no doubt encourage trade in to other shops. La Bruchetta hot chocolate helped to defrost me after shopping there on Sunday!

Do you have a fairy godmother sitting on your shoulder davem? Apparently the powers that be have granted your wish. The Farmers Market will be on the green this Friday.

It is the same traders that you would normally see next to the bus depot. I don't know why it is on a Friday, I'm only passing the details along as they were told to me.

Has anyone seen the signs in the high street for a farmer's market on Friday 10am-3pm at Safeways. I wonder if they're going to reopen the store for this or put the stalls out in front of the doors.

Oops, just read this thread through properly and realised my last post is now rather old news…

Does anyone know if the market is on this Sunday or any future dates?
