I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Both the food and the srevice are excellent and have a personal touch.

We are holding a party there soon and they have been very flexible and helpful when we were talking about setting it up.

yes it's well worth venturing a few yards off the Triangle to reach Mehfil - a very nice place, lots of choice and friendly service. :)
opposed to taking terrapins.

Had two meals here and both very good, which makes it odd that it always seems quite quiet. Think it should be given lots of support so if in doubt give it a try.

Plus they send you a birthday card when it's not even your birthday - can't go wrong!

The only thing that's stopping me from going back is the cost... I think it's a wonderful place. The takeaways are as good as the restaurant food as well.

That makes two of us - £50 for a meal for two

Don't get me wrong, it was lovely, but incredibly expensive.

I think Mehfil is quite a bit more expensive than the Gurka Cottage but you can eat from their takeaway/standard menu which I imagine would be alot cheaper than the gourmet menu they present you with.

We normally spend £20-25 per head when we go out but that includes quite a lot of alcohol. Is that expensive for a restaurant? :o

Mehfil is fab. The chairs are extremely comfortable and it's on our way home which is a real bonus. Pre-dinner drinks at White Hart, followed by Mehfil - the perfect combination. Just waiting for an art house cinema on Church Road now.

Ah now I didn't know about the non-gourmet menu - they kept that one  when we went!

I would certainly go back now I know though!

Hee hee have just found Mehfil's website!

Do the Tour! I don't suppose the couple pictured are VNers by any chance :P

The food looks fab in the pictures although the menu wouldn't go past page one for me

The "non-gourmet" dishes aren't shown on the menu but it states that you can ask for any standard dish and they will make it for you. I did this (onion bhajis and something else I can't recall now) - the food was delish but not that much cheaper.

Does anyone recognise the diners in their photo?

I just love the tour! Don't recognise the couple, although one of my colleagues at work reckons the bloke is a project management trainer based up north. Seems a long way to come for a meal ;)
