Havennt used this pub for over 12 years but popped in their last Sunday to watch the Man City game with a few friends !

Whats not to like about the place it was very very clean & served good quality beer ( all bitters £2.85 ) was drinking Sharps ( not Doombar) at the time but cant remember which one but later found out it was 4.4 % but regulary changes guess bitters.

A good venue if you like to drink good quality beer & want to watch footie games on SKY in a spacious proper boozer !.

PS Downside no garden but has a few benches & chairs outside !

The Australian blond beer was perfectly chilled and very reasonably priced and the yummy freshly bagged potato based nibbles were to die for.

I do like decent traditional pubs - ones that are friendly and welcoming and that don't make women who walk in solo feel as if they have appeared from Planet Zog.
Our local in Bridport is the George - great place. Lovely landlady, eccentric and colourful regulars, great bear/wine/food and occasional live muisc. Love it. Here's a vid of one of the local eccentrics doing a Hocus Pocus rendition in the George at the last Hat Festival:

Looks very nice, SL. :) Shame it's wasted on inbred carrot crunchers.

Heh heh,

actually I am one of the few (originally) Dorset folk amongst the locals - many are originally from Londinium or 'up North.'

Actually very true. Having spent many a miserable summer trudging round Bradbury rings I can vouch for that. My grandparents retired to Wimborne from London. The place is full of us.

Update Curry night is now a weekly event I understand ! Beer Festival going on between the 28th September - 7 October I am sure its not going to be grand affair as the G & G but if £2.85 a pop i will give it a go ! Dazza
