Very nice atmosphere - and very child friendly too at the weekend. Impressed. Thought the food was a bit expensive (£9.50 for a burger and chips for example) but it was very nice.

£9.50 for burger and chips!! That seems incredibly expensive to me. I seem to remember it's much cheaper for burger and chips at the Black Sheep.

And £8.90 for a steak and ale pie in the White Hart. Fish and chips at The Ivy are cheaper!

I had the £9.50 burger and chips at The Mansion and it was a pre porcessed burger on a cheap white bun with no sald garnish. It was very poor value and didn't taste great either

And I had the steak and ale pie in the White Hart. And it wasn't £8.90 kind of food either.

Not been in The Mansion yet but two pubs charging these kinds of prices for food make me feel like it's North London....

Nearly everywhere is overpriced though - La Bruschetta, Cafe ABC, Mansion, White Hart, La Torre - I don't think any of them are particularly cheap - it's (quite posh) restaurant food prices rather than pub prices - but that's normal now for London.

I agree, but Cafe ABC charges £7 for their burger... that's a whole £2 cheaper than the Mansion and White Hart. And the onion chutney on the burger is VERY good.

I wonder if The Mansion and White Hart will drop their food prices. I can't see too many people eating in a pub at that price on a regular basis

I am surprised and disappointed to see these prices! I was hoping they would serve good food at reasonable cost - not having visited the White Hart yet, this has put me off somewhat.
We've had a pretty decent burger and steak and ale pie at the Postal Order for a lot less. OK, the surroundings aren't that great but they do serve Abbot ale.

I tried the £890 steak and ale pieat £90, Its actually pretty good but the portion size was samll I had had chunkychips, well 5 of them

I'll drink at The Mansion and Whiteheart but after I've eaten elsewhere

went here for the first time on sunday - fantatic decor and it feels really cosy. as for the sunday lunch - yummy! Roast pork and all the trimmings..... lovely. Plus the staff are really tentative and on the ball..... nice chandeliers too may i say.....

Does anyone know what the vegetarian menu is like? and, do they have a selection of Sunday Newspapers to read?

I was in there the day after they opened and had lunch. There wasn't a huge amount of chioice (but then there rarely is, is there?!) But I think there were at least 2 things I oculd have. I can't actually remember what I had, but it was luke warm. My husband wasn't overwhelmed by his eggs benedict either (I think the yolks were cooked rather than runny, which kind of misses the point of the dish.) I will give them another chance at some point...
