I used notjustcomputers (they have moved to the industrial unit in Martell Road) to fix my PC when the heat cover broke off the CPU - They had it fixed in 3 hours and it cost £40 compared to £185 which Dell wanted to charge. They also updated my anti-viral and spyware software. All in all an excellent service.

Slightly off-topic but my son is an IT techie who fixes iPods, if anyone needs to know. Apparently there's not many places that do this. Trouble is he lives in Bristol so you'd need to trust Royal Mail with your precious pod. If anyone is interested please PM me!

If you are interested molly, I am pretty savvy with computers. I build/repair and although I have no experience with laptops a virus problem will be simple to overcome most probably.

Email me for more info, letting me know exactly what the problem is.

Cheers

Does anyone know of a good local repair shop for laptops? I managed to splash my keyboard with red wine last night... Everything works ok except some of the keys. Having done some web exploring, it seems that the keyboard needs to be cleaned or replaced, but it's a job beyond my capabilities... Can anyone help? I'm writing this from my mobile...

Do you have the model number? If it is out of warranty it might be worth checking up on the manual as you could remove the keyboard yourself and clean the contacts. Let me have the model number and I will have a look for you.

Cheers,

It's an Acer Aspire 3000. I think we'll take it to these guys tomorrow though:

Taking a laptop apart is well outside of my comfort zone...

I did give "Computer Repair" a call on 0800 011 2380 who are apparently on Church Road.

Many thanks to everyone that has recommended "Not Just Computers" to anyone, almost 90% of our new business comes from recommendation and we appreciate your kind words.

Just to let everyone know, we can fix all your computer problems (including Laptops), Virus Removal & Prevention just to name a few of our services.

We primarily work for Businesses but also take on home user systems, this does not mean that you get treated any different but you benefit from our commercial experience and service, normally out of most people price bracket, but we bring you what we like to think is a very high quality of service and anyone not happy just let us know and we will do our best to put things right.

HI All

Clumsy me cracked my laptop screen whilst holding it the other day...and proceeded to get a massive lecture from the other half. It is still useable, but I can only see on half the screen. Anyone know if this is repairable and any recommendations if so? Otherwise i know what I'll have to spend my bonus on...
