We have used Mark Jolly a couple of times and he has been excellent and reasonable. 02086534337 or 07970486791.

Also try T&T Earthmatters. They are based in Playdell Road. Very good!

Hi there,

Need a tree surgeon. Do these recommendations still hold?

Does anybody have any more recent recommendations?

Cheers,
Ben

We used City Suburban Tree Services (http://www.tree-surgeons.net/) in January 2007 - they were marvellous & our elderly bramley apple trees are now looking fine, having been neglected for at least 6 years (not, I hasten to add, by us!). They work for local councils, and only do what they referred to as "domestics" on Saturdays.

They shredded our off-cuts on site, & have a policy of recycling, so those chippings are being used somewhere in Westminster/Lambeth/Croydon, for whom they work during the week.

We have a large silver birch which needs to be sympathetically pruned to curtail further root growth, maintain appearance and shape and let in much needed sunlight. Can anyone make a recommendation please.

Many thanks :)

Does anyone know of any good tree surgeons locally? I've got a tree in the garden which is much too big to be tackled by anyone without proper gear and know-how (and despite the other'alf's assurances he possesses neither in this particular respect :P )...
