Hi there,

I'm a freelance writer and editor based at home in Crystal Palace. I write for publications such as The Grocer, Just-Food and Just-Drinks.

I was just thinking that it might be a good idea to find establish a network of freelancers in the area to help each other out with various things from putting work your way to sourcing new contacts. It would be great to know if there are any other freelance journalists/PRs in the area as I'm sure we could help each other out with various projects. Likewise, any other freelancers may find this useful. I'm sure that we could initially converse through Virtual Norwood, and exchange email addresses etc.
After all, it's not what you know, it's who you know - apparently!

If you would like to locate other freelancers in the area, please reply to this topic explaining your freelance specialism and your email address as a starting point.

Cheers,
Helen

Hi there
Thanks for your reply. I've had a handful of responses directly to my work email so we are now up and running. I'll send everyone an email asap. Which email address would you like me to contact you on? Please let me know at foodjournalist@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks,

Hi Helen, my boyfriend and I are moving into the area shortly and we both do freelance work part-time; I'm a copywriter and Paul's a freelance bid assessor. Your idea of a freelancer's network sounds great; we'd really be interested in signing up. Please keep us in the loop! Many thanks, Justine (justineclaw@yahoo.co.uk).

I'm a freelance journalist! I write about consumer technology (gadgets etc) for the Indy on Sunday Review, Observer Woman, Blueprint, Woman & Home, Stuff, and more techy titles like the Mobile Choice, PC Pro and Custom PC.

I also run a blog publishing company called Shiny Media (www.shinymedia.com) and edit www.shinyshiny.tv so if any of you freelancers fancy doing some blogging (we don't just do gadgets), let me know!

(Oh, and I also wrote a piece once for Living South about Abel & Cole - just because I wanted to go and have a nose round their factory!)

my email is katie at katielee dot co dot uk

Hi,
This sounds like a great idea and I would like to be part of it. I am a social anthropologist that does part-time freelance work as a commercial anthropologist. I mainly focus on branding, social use of technology and organisational culture. I also carry out consultancy work for political think tanks such as DEMOS, The Young Foundation and The Work Foundation.

Thanks

John

Dazza, hi.
I need to get some A5 cards printed, full colour, both sides. Good weight paper. It's to advertise Mr Meal, a bit like large business cards, photo only on the front and text and photos on the back. Any ideas of costs for 250ish?
Thanks,
Nico

Well guys that was the best bit free of advertising I have ever done. Do you have any artwork for these jobs ?

Drop me a private email with your contact details so I can discuss options. Could it wait till Tuesday as Business partner in egypt & prepping for easter etc.

Cheers all Dazza

Hello all,
Glad to see you all like my idea of a freelancers' networking group. I sent the first email out to those who supplied email addresses at the end of last week, and will send another to include new freelancers after Easter.
Thanks,
Helen
