In answer to the original question. Too hot!

First time i've ever had six pints and not had the call of nature  And whilst I am escaping to the Peaks for a stag do, the humidity there is 80%+ arggggh

Have ordered my first air conditioner, even with the fan on full, still sweating buckets. It is so not in their interests not to get this to me on time, this heat is making me anything but sweet and reasonable...

It's Going To Be 'Extreme'

Temperatures are set to soar past 101F in August during a spell of "extreme heat".

The country has wilted in the blistering heat throughout July, set to be the hottest on record.

But experts say the best is yet to come with the mercury expected to rise beyond a whopping 101F (38.5C).

Eh? Experts say the best is yet to come? Do people actually like sweating?

Tell me about it! I've suffered in an office without air con for 2 weeks now and everyone is getting more and more angry.

Doesn't help that there was a major power cut today and we were made to wait in the heat for 4 HOURS until it came back on.
Grrrrrrrrr!

I can't wait for it to cool down a bit, I'm exhausted!

Time to order desk fans, water coolers and be on the lookout for the day of the flying ants.

I wonder whether a new poll is required to find out how hot everyone thinks it will get this year?

Absolutely James! Just read back the whole of this thread and it has a really happy feel good factor about it ( apart from the bits about sweat <_< ) I can't believe it was 3 years ago! Bring on warmer weather but not too hot.

I would be more than delighted to give a projection for the Elephant and Castle district.

Interesting question - and although the past six weeks have been pretty dismal, too soon to say whether this will continue or flip around to give us a good summer.

We almost always reach 28 degrees and about one year in two we get to 30 degrees. Much about 32 is much rarer - last time was in 2006 when in CP it got up to 34.

I'll go for 32.

I remember the 34 c - horrid journey back from Victoria - train in front broke down - stuck on ours for an hour , screaming kids , stressed workers , BTP were called.
Hopefully this summer will be a joy and lots of ice cream from Braziliana cafe , great service with a smile and lovely flavours. Keeps the kids happy to boot ! I personally think we will hit 32 c in the Triangle for 2012 , we could do with more beer gardens !
