If anyone needs a good mechanic or servicing and MOTs, you could try CT Car & Truck in Bensham Lane, 020 8665 5853. They are specialist in vans & minibuses but are also excellent with cars. They changed my cambelt when 3 other garages would not take it on (PT Cruiser) it only took a couple of days and they did not charge the earth.

i used Spectrum Auto Services in Paxton Place for what i thought was a fairly routine job.

I will certainly never use them again.

Does anyone have any recent recommendations please? I've just been quoted £350 from the Fiat garage to replaces front brake pads and discs for a Fiat Grande Punto and another £140 to put a new door handle on the rear left side door. Also recommending I change the time belt for another £300. These quotes seem a bit pricey to me so I'd like to find out what the work would cost at another reputable garage. I can't do without a car but as I'm on maternity leave at the moment every penny counts! Thanks in advance.

I haven't used them myself, but I have heard a couple of good reviews of CP Autos on Bedwardine Road (between South Vale and Gatestone Road) (020 8 771 0967).  I think they have been there quite a few years.

My car is due to be serviced in a couple of months so would like to see if Alton Motors and Frewings is still recommended or not?
