Hi,
I have recently become self-employed and am looking for a local accountant to help with my tax returns. Could anyone recommend one?

Thanks

Do you really need an accountant? If you're running your own company, then probably so, but if you're just looking for someone to sort out your tax returns and minimise your liabilities, you should contact a tax specialist.

When I had my own company, I used Charles Basoah of Adomako Basoah at 113 Parchmore Road, Thornton Heath CR7 8LZ, tel: 020 8771 5691.

After I became employed again with a mix of incomes, my tax affairs were looked after very well by Don Day, of Kingsmill Tax Consultants in Croydon, 020 8649 8889.

Apologies for not noticing your request for a recommendation before now.

I recently used Charles Basoah myself - would thoroughly recommend him as well. Helped me sort out my tax return

Dear All
I'm in need of a freelance/self employed accountant to go through with me my business books before I fill it all in online on my tax return (this will be my first one!) so I would like to get to know the whole process explained to me as we go through it.... shouldn't take too long....
Any recommendations locally?

Hi
I've just used Ray at Coman and Co tax return advisers based in Church Road at the Palace. He gave me no nonsense advice and tax planning at a very reasonable rate. I'd definitely recommend him/them for speed efficiency and help in saving money!

Thanks for this recommendation, Damiano. Did you follow it up, Jane? I've done my own tax return online for the past two years, but it's a bit more complicated this year as I have bought a property overseas. Before that I used a chap in Dundee, as out-of-London rates were so much cheaper. However, I like the idea of being able to drop off my paperwork rather than doing it all online and by post. Does anyone else have any local recommendations I can follow up?

Are there any more recommendations for local accountants (preferably in CP) as I have also become self employed.

Thanks in advance.

Would recommend the services of Okolo-Byrne & Co. They are based near the southern end of Leigham Court Road, so are conveniently local.

Very efficient and stepped in at short notice to complete necessary Returns when another accountancy firm let me down.
