Hi all,

It's that time again already. The Daily Telegraph has released the Premiership game for 2006-7. You can sign up and choose your team here:

Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football

For those who haven't played before, now's your chance to have a crack. It's lots of fun and only cost £6 to enter a team. Hopefully, those of you who played World Cup FF will have enjoyed it enough to try the Premiership game. It's less intense than the World Cup version, which was fun but a little hectic  .

I'm happy to set up a Superleague if people would like. I know that usually we just post up our weekly scores here but we can have a superleague too if there are enough people (need at least five teams for this though).

Count me in! I've been doing the Telegraph fantasy football in the work superleague for 4 years (2nd last year, 3rd this year out of 20!). If I can put the same team in your superleague as well maybe you'll give me a bit more competition than the works lot!

Good stuff. When we've got five I'll set the league up and post the pin number here.

Would people prefer to have 'team views' in the Superleague switched on or off? My instinct tells me 'off' would be better, but want to see what you guys think first.

Okay, now created. Here are the details:

League PIN 8004026
League Name VIRTUAL NORWOOD LEAGUE

Off to tweak my team now. I'm finding it really hard to come up with something decent this year.

I think that looks like a pretty good side. Duff seems a good option now he's moved and is so cheap. Your midfield and strikeforce look strong. I wonder if you should downgrade your keeper though so you can strengthen your defence. I think Reina is good value and I would consider adding a Pool player to your defence as they were great last year. Might be hard to do without compromising elsewhere though.

Trouble is once you have the standard four - Terry, Lamps, Gerrard and Henry - there's not much room for manoeuvre.

P Chech was an expense but I have got stuffed so many times through conceeding too many I don't want to loose out. I did have Carragher in at first, but couldn't afford him. My weak links (potentially) are Bent, Job & Ferdinand due to second season come downs (always seems to happen) or just poor perfromances. Will be watching Lamps closely to see if his post World Cup form picks up, if not there will be a swift change.

This is what Mr Hansen has gone for...

P Cech CHE £4.0m

E Eboue ARS £3.7m
W Brown MUN £3.6m
J Terry CHE £5.0m
G Heinze MUN £4.1m

A Lennon TOT £3.8m
F Lampard CHE £4.7m
S Gerrard LIV £5.0m
K Nolan BOL £4.2m

D Ashton WHM £5.7m
C Bellamy LIV £6.2m

Seriously considered Ashton but will he play regularly? THere are so many good young strikers at West Ham that it is always a risk. Very surprised with Wes Brown, considering how much Alan bangs on about defence. In the end a goal costs -1 against and +5 for.

There is a transfer amnesty until 17th August and teams must be submitted by August 18th...

OK - Here's my team. As I've no idea what I'm doing, your comments and criticism are most welcome!

P.S. Can you change your team name? - I've chosen mine, but it's quite ridiculous and I'd like to alter it . . . :o

101 P Cech Chelsea 4.0

Defenders
L King Tottenham Hotspur 3.6
E Eboue Arsenal 3.7
A Ferdinand West Ham United 3.4
A Diagne-Faye Bolton Wanderers 3.2

Midfielders
J Cole Chelsea 4.3
M Carrick Tottenham Hotspur 4.1
A Lennon Tottenham Hotspur 3.8

Strikers
W Rooney Manchester United 8.0
C Bellamy Liverpool 6.2
R van Persie Arsenal 5.6

Once you've chosen your name you can't change it online. I think if you contact the Tele they will change it for you though. Have you got Mango's Soccerbocca again? I quite liked that name :) .

Re your team, I would consider going 4-4-2 and ditching van Persie. You need to strengthen your defence as you currently have no big names in there. Also you could do with Gerrard or similar in your midfield. I think you should have at least one, pref two of the big four (Henry, Terry, Gerrard, Lamps). Otherwise you are taking a risk as they are all consistently high points scorers and you could fall behind very quickly.

Not picking Henry is always a risk but I like the Rooney/Bellamy partnership and you can always draft in Henry later when you know which cheapie striker is taking the Prem by storm this year.

I'm not sure about Ledley King - he only scored 64 points last year. Finnan was the same value yet scored 155! Obviously Finnan is pricier though now as a result and King was injured so may do better this year. Likewise, Lennon who only got 64 points. Top midfield score was 230 (Gerrard of course).

Off to tinker with my team!
