As an antithesis to the very popular Pet Hates thread I've decided to start a Pet Loves thread. Post the little things that make you happy. I'll go first

Babies uncontrollably laughing
Spam email names (Larry Lanburger, Nolly Mitchell, Lily Talley)
People holding the door open instead of letting it slam in your face

Babies dancing to punk
Cheerful bus drivers
Well-kept pint of Adnams with a bag of marmite crisps
Overhearing pensioners conversations about their medical ailments
My mum telling me obsolete yet somehow rich information i.e. "The milkman's gone and married a Russian"
Fighting Nighthawks in the sky
Brave and loyal are these guys
Brothers turning wrong to right
Never running from a fight, fight, fight
Fighting Nightingales

You've both made my day ! Great stuff !

The smell of wet pavements when it hasn't rained for several weeks.
Friday afternoons.
a carrot is as close as a rabbit gets to a diamond

Can we re-name this thread "Reasons To Be Cheerful"? :)

Will this thread become more popular than pet hates? Are we more glass half empty or glass half full (actually I think I already know the answer to that one  )

Unexpectedly sunny weather in September

Autumn leaves and conkers

When my cat momentarily lets slip her air of distain and shows a little bit of affection.

Hilary... can you rename this thread please? Uncle Wilf's suggestion is better than mine.

Waking up on the first morning when you have a week off!
The smell and softness of fresh bed sheets...
The joy of staying in a hotel with no cooking, cleaning and so on...
Views that make you catch your breath...
The first pint on a Friday night...

Dancing to electric boogaloo on my own in front of the mirror

Caution... this thread may cause severe embarrassment!

I'm getting all warm and fuzzy reading the above... :)

Thursday night is once again comedy night (as it always used to be) with Extras followed by Mitchell and Webb.

The grin my son wears from ear to ear every day since starting school coupled with my daughter's improved mood now that she and her younger brother no longer have to share a room.

Having a proper kitchen.

a hot cup of tea on the bedside table when you wake up.

Waking up at 1.30 am and realising you still have another 5 hours in bed

Waking up on Saturday morning thinking it is a weekday, and then remembering it's Saturday.....aaaaaaaaaaah

Very much agree with you in the comedy front, Jannism.

People who let you go first on the bus

Saturdays with no major plans....

An inexhaustable supply of filtered, ice-cold water now that I've finally plumbed in the fridge (after 3 years!).

Thanks Hilar... eh, hang on! You're not Hilary!

Sorry, I should have addressed it to all moderators but I saw that Hilary was currently reading the thread
