Tomorrow is the very day that many like to call Friday.

Those of us in the grip of gainful employment within the conventional framework of the Monday-Friday working week have in fact much reason to long for it's appearing, do we not?

That was exhausting... I need a lie down now...

Can't come fast enough if you ask me.

Anyway, I'm going to add one of my own:

I've just made the switch from the darkside and purchased my first iMac. It's amazing and I'm totally in love with it B) . So that's my reason to be cheerful at the moment.

Welcome to the dark side Mel. Have been a Mac user and lover for all my computing life. There aint no better I tell you.

Which actually is another reason to be cheerful, I get to buy a new macbook soon! :)

And Ged, I totally agree - Green and Black's organic white chocolate is divine.

Today I am cheerful because I have drunk lots of good sencha green tea, I'm listening to my Shiny Pretty Things autumn playlist and tomorrow I'm going to get a hug from Amma.

And I'm cheerful because I get to boost this thread (we have to make it more active than the Pet Hates thread!)

Walking with my children to school on a chilly, misty morning (actually, any type of morning really but it just happens to be like that this morning).

My children's school. It's a really vibrant and nurturing place to be. Warm, fuzzy feelings all round. :)

"Pet hates" leading "Reasons to be Cheerful" in viewings by nearly 6:1. ;) :)

It's sunny
It's Friday today

I've decided that I am going to have a beef and onion pie for lunch. That's bound to make everybody around me cheerful isn't it?

Ah, but "Pet hates" had nearly double the amount of posts on its day of inception than "Reasons to be cheerful" had on its first day which has helped (perhaps artificially) boost its average lead to about 20 more posts a month.

This last month has seen "Pet hates" receive 43 posts to "Reasons to be cheerful"s 70+ which suggests that "Reasons to be cheerful" is in the ascendancy whilst "Pet hates", after 5 months, is at last in decline.

I have no idea what this tells us about the state of mind of many of the VN contingent, except to say that I think I may be having a "turn". <_<

Anyway, another reason to be cheerful is that Fridays mean I get to have lunch in a nice country pub with Mrs Jannism (that in itself means I get out more, something which I clearly need to do  ).

Ged, meeting Amma was amazing. I'm sorry you missed it. Next time I'll post in plenty of time. :)

Reasons to be cheerful today: I've found my flat! (Yes, I'll soon be getting round to the Big Move to UN) And I finally have written confirmation of my new job and so was able to hand in my notice last night.

Oh, and another thing that made me smile: realising (rather obviously) that Upper Norwood shares the same initials as the United Nations. You have no idea how much this appeals to my warped delusions of grandeur. ;)
