I hope it's a bar. We don't really need another restaurant in CP.

Unless it's a Nandos! There aren't enough decent places you can take children (grandchildren in my case).

This job vacancy might be a red herring, but the description doesn't really seem to fit either Pizza Hut or Pizza Express:

Our client is among the largest and most recognisable restaurant brands in the world. With restaurants all across the globe, this business is synonymous with excellent service, quality products and value for money. The business is renowned for the diverse menu it offers and the warm, inviting atmosphere in the restaurants. Due to ongoing expansion and the development of existing employees, a vacancy has arisen for a Restaurant General Manager in Upper Norwood.

That says "fast food joint" to me... or TGI Friday's!

excellent service, quality products and value for money

marketing speak...

I think I might jump off a bridge now. It's a Wimpy. Must be.

How many existing national restaurant brands are there in Upper Norwood? I can't think of any other than the two Andreas has mentioned. I can't see why Pizza Hut would need to move now that Sainsbury's is up and running. Maybe Pizza Express is a contender. However, it sounds more likely that this job advert is for the Puzzle's replacement. Nando's seems to fit the profile.

I think this is going to be KFC or Frankie & Benny's !!! *yuk*

Should the neighbourhood have a voice on what we want/need in the area??

Running a quick search it looks as if they are opening the same restaurant in Tunbridge Wells and Wiltshire

definitely a big chain ref is KMPH(followed by a number)

sounds like K for KFC??? it's one of teh recruitment company clients at thee nd of the day

You have to register with the agency to get any information out of them, they won't tell you the name of the organisation.

Surely the premises is far too big for a takeaway/fast food store such as KFC - also there are already at least 2 fried chicken joints nearby. A restaurant chain is surely more likely.

Also, the job advert may be a red herring - couldn't it just as easily be Pizza Express/Hut advertising for a new manager for their restaurants in CP because the current manager is being promoted elsewhere?

Mr Charlie and I undertook a little bit of espionage  last night and I can now confirm that the client for the building and landscaping works is none other than PREZZO PLC. The plan of the proposed landscaping for the rear garden looks pretty good too!!

Presuming it is them, and it's going to be an actual Prezzo restaurant rather than one of their other brands, this is a pretty high class Italian - have you seen where there other locations in London are?!
