Looks good, Crofty! Thanks for posting the screenshot... :)

Did you manage to capture this part on video?

Mario's put up a new video on YouTube of the "Queen Victoria" prop being exhibited on the crane, which his brother managed to capture:

Does this look like Queen Victoria to you? :D I think we could have done with a commentary accompanying this show...

Crofty, I wasn't sure if the fireworks lasted about 45 minutes, but it seems you got everything captured, so well done! :) I really hope you do decide to share it with us, as a few of my family/friends never got to attend the event and I would like to show it to them, but of course you're not obliged to share it with anyone if you don't want to; you own the copyright to your own photos/videos, so it's up to you what you do with them. ;)

I converted one of Mario's clips to MPEG format and pulled the sound back a bit:

Those pictures were indeed captured by digital camera by myself. It's nearly four years old mind - must remember to buy a better one real soon.

I took all the camera shots whilst my son shot all the video footage with the exception of the grand finale which I did.

Nice clear photo of the prop; goes hand-in-hand with your brother's footage!

Dear Everyone

The photos I have seen via this site are just absolutly fantastic. Well photographed by everybody involved. These will be photos that people will cherish for ever. Of course firework displays were a common feature each year at the Crystal Palace starting in 1869 and lasted untill the fire in 1936.

Apart from Victorian Weekend that is held annually in Crystal Palace Park, there are plans to do other events for the future, so the firework display will be the first of many to take place and others will eventually follow. Other popular events that were held at the Palace included cat shows, boxing matches and ballooning which the Crystal Palace Foundation are thinking of bringing back so look out for these events in the future.

Meanwhile keep those photos coming in.
