I noticed the new restaurant next to A Torre restaurant seems to have opened up. A interesting looking menu...

Not sure - only looked at the menu.....

Ah yes payday... not long to go now.

Looks like they've made good use of the space in there.
I wonder if they got rid of the Tales Of The Sea ashtrays...

Is it called mediterraneao or something like that?
Anyway, tomorrow we have a babysitter, so its time for our 6 monthly trip to the triangle and maybe they win?

Come on Wilf - you should know better than that - since when do I get to choose?

But perhaps Mrs matt will be persuaded. ...

Please can someone let me know about the name and contact details, plus opening hours and style of cuisine, so that I can add it to our reviews section.

Here are the details, James. I ventured in there tonight and on first impressions, it's going to be a really good addition to the Triangle.

What sort of food do they have, elleme. Presumably 'mediterranean', but of what ilk?!

Food somewhat Italian, but with Greek dishes, an emphasis on Sardinian food. Decor very interesting and stylish, a bit like Mephil. Service very good, food well prepared. Family friendly, one family with a delightful little three year old who wanted to make friends with everyone. I hope the range widens, but a welcome addition to the Triangle. It is not your typical ristorante italiano, so I don't think it will be competing with Il Ponte or Lorenzo’s, think a bit like Numide, an owner with courage and a commitment to quality...(I am definitely not criticizing either of the two Italian restaurants on the triangle, both of which I love dearly, and patronise frequently.)

It's Italian food from Sardinia (one of the 20 regions - the island)

Pretty traditional and we liked it!

been there on Sunday for lunch

the startes were great, my other half reccommends the soup, I'd say the wild boar salami is yummi

he had some pork with rice, which was bit dry and plain but I had the ravioli and my mouth is still watering!!!! YUUUMMMIIII!!!

Whilst peering in on Saturday lunchtime (wistfully wondering about getting a babysitter) we met the chef/owner and had a quick chat. The idea is to keep the menu relatively simple because they intend to use entirely fresh ingredients. The linguine with fresh crab sounded great. The menu is definitely Sardinian influenced but with other Mediterranean dishes. Would love to hear back with what the food's like.

Sardinian food is charming...

I think it's a great idea to do fewer things very well than have a huge menu and not do anything with excellence.

Will certainly be giving this place a visit very soon.
Only question is where have they put the kitchen?

We were there at the weekend and thought the food was excellent. The service was very good too and they explained that as the emphasis is on fresh ingredients, the menu would change fairly frequently. We were pleasantly surprised when we got the bill also, and will definitely be going back!
