I thank Thornton Springer for the need to visit the triangle and inevitably Mediterranea... a very lovely pasta that looked like maggots and tasted (again) like heaven and Mrs B had the fish platter which was apparently very good too! and it was fairly busy which was pleasing... Mr E was running the place on his own but covering the place with his usual enthusiasm. Such a delight!

We had a super meal here today:
Saltfish fritter with lemon mayo to start, and R had pork belly with spicy sausage and peas (lovely).
To follow, I had very good fresh pasta with a spicy sausage and tomato sauce. R had a fabulous seafood risotto - tried to add a pic but can only manage a link.

We had another great meal here on Friday evening - and it was good to visit Mediterranea in the evening as most of our visits to date have been on lazy Sunday afternoons.
I had a lovely starter with honey and aubergine, and R had red mullet which went down very well. For the main, I had potato pasta with a tomato sauce and R had a very good and tender steak. What I particularly like about this restaurant is that Effisio will happily allow you to go off menu if you choose - this time he whipped up a heavenly side order of green beans, sauted with garlic and let me have a spicier sauce with my pasta (basically because I have an unhealthy chilli addiction...).
The food here is wonderfully fresh and simply cooked, and with the genial host and relaxing surroundings we are drawn here more and more.

Mr Spoon took me back here for my birthday. I meant to post sooner - we had a really lovely meal, as always, but as I've left it a few weeks to say so, I now can't remember exactly what we both had.
It was a school night and we went fairly late so it was quiet but we think it had been busier earlier on in the evening.
Congrats too on the birth of the new Baby Mediterranea. And despite newborn nights, Papa Med is still serving with a smile!

We went there on Saturday for a quick lunch and ordered the specials: Mushrooms tagliatelle & Chicken Breast with salad.....great price, great food and great service as usual....we left with a less than a 20 quid bill....definitely right for our pockets!! Can only highly recommend the place.

I celebrated my 30th birthday here a few saturdays ago and all I can say is that it was a fantastic evening! Some of the best food I can remember having for a long time. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were excellent! I can't really sing the praises of this restaurant enough. Easily my favorite spot in the triangle now!
