Aussie number three here. I donno you move half way round the world........

The flocks that roam CP and Wells Parks have been growing steadily over the past few years, and they can live for up to 70 years, so it could be a problem in the future.

I'm surprised that only one person has commented on the noise they make. The first thing you hear is their sociable chit chat and then looking skywards you will invariably see a squadron of about 10 parakeets flying with determination (unlike Starlings which seem completely random). I think they're great. I also wonder what they taste like.

To me they sound like a squeaky toy. In CPP you're most likely to see/hear them near the maze and by the avenue of plane trees near to the kid's playground.

I've often seen flocks of them in CPP, near the playground.. there's also a resident flock around the old sewage works on Elmers End Road, near the Crematorium.

Looks like they are all over south London GillyMS. Pretty incredible sight and noise when you get a large flock and for some reason they do enjoying hanging out near crematoriums. Two definitely seemed related perhaps mum and daughter.

Got a photo atlast of our new garden friends. They were chattering away to each other and getting through the sunflower seeds like nobody's business.
