Have to reprt back that our New Year's Eve night out here was DULL beyond belief - the DJ played unrecognisable techno and the 'arty' graphics were screened on the big screen right up to the witching hour - no countdown to midnight while watching Big Ben for us! We could barely be bothered to haul ourselves to our feet as the new year dawned. No Auld Lang Syne and absolutely no atmosphere. And the ladies' loos are a disgrace - one had a broken toilet seat, the second had run out of loo roll and, in the third, the bulb had gone. I was in bed with tea and toast by 12.30. Am taking others' advice and staying home next year! Bah humbug.

This place started off really well (never tried the food so can't comment) Really nice staff and a nice new crowd in there, it seems to be going down hill again though, the last few times I have been in the old crowd seem to be back in there and any atmostphere the place had has gone out the window. My last visit resulted in us leaving after one drink and then having to push through a really rough crowd to escape!

Good pies in there though!

still havent seen a live band yet...was hoping I would after paying 5 to get in the other night, some live music at least to get my moneys worth.

The only entertainment we had was the foosball table.

Nice pub though

I was there a few weeks ago, and had the worst chips I have ever had. They tasted like I made them, and I don't go out to pay for stuff that I think I can do myself!

Went on saturday night.
Started well about 9pm but by 11pm it resembled the cantina bar from star wars.
Rather chavvy and pikey and with the bane of pubs.. the toilet 'freshenup' man.
Proof that the devil is amongst us, and doesn't live far from Palace on a saturday night.

As close as that pub is to my flat (two minutes), I just cant be bothered with it, and as for the bloke in the toilet with paper towels and aftershave etc, the space is not big enough. He actually gets in the way when you want to wash your hands. And when you then go to dry your hands under the electric dryer, his head gets in the way so you have to accept a paper towel from him!!

As nice as the decor is inside the pub, it still aint quite for me.

Yep - that was pretty much the problem with him.
All it does is encourage people NOT to wash their hands.

Reasonable pub/bar during the day/weeknights but purely the work of the devil on a Saturday night. Where does everyone come from??

I hate rastaurants/pubs/bars/clubs with toilet attendents. I am perfectly capale of washing my own hands thank you very much! Poor person who has to endure hanging in the loo all day/night.

I assume another reason for the freshenup man is to discourage other cubicle based activities...?

I've just moved into Crystal Palace, a few doors down from Westow House, and was wondering if any one can tell me what sort of music they have on a Tuesday night and which is the best night to pop in.
