I had lunch in there yesterday, as someone had said it had gone a bit cheffy.
Against my better judgement I ordered the jerusalem artichoke, oyster mushroom and truffle risotto. I say against my better judgement only because the only ingredient I am really keen on there was the truffle, but I was willing to give the other two a try.
It was not lick by bowl (if I could) clean nice but it wasn't bad and at least they offered slightly more imaginative takes on the two stock vegetarian options: pasta or risotto.

So overall I was satisfied and will go back to try the other veggie option.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon outside catching some rays with a few cheeky vinos and selection of summertime favourites ! Pimms o'clock was very popular with the assorted groups of yummy/slummy mummys and their offspring seemed to enjoy playing with traffic !

It'll be ruined forever for me, in a good way, after someone called it WetSow House on another thread, suggesting a sign with a soggy porcine on it! Pig in a Puddle must be Cockney Rhyming Slang for sum't?

£3.80 for cooking lager... they're having a laugh (unlike the kid who wasn't paying attention and walked straight into the chalk boards they insist on taking up half the pavement with).
Never eat a piece of cheese bigger than your head.

 makes me even less likely to set foot in the place.... then again - to be fair - they aren't aiming the place for my tastes.

Big Night Out in CP. We started in Westow House with just a drink. But my companion ordered 6 oysters and they were the best I'd ever tasted. Just gorgeous. We moseyed off to the White Hart via Urban Orient and they were lovely but the high point was definitely WH. I'll be back...

I should really like Westow House but as I mentioned about the Exhibition Rooms before - it has a certain je ne sais quoi (pretentious, moi?!) that means I don't really think about it for a casual drink. My pals sometimes meet there and I find myself looking longingly across the road to the G&G! And then make them go there. haha.

Big fan of the Westow House - I've been running a regular poker night there for over a year now - You'll see us all in the right hand corner nearest the main doors from around 7.30 enjoying some of the wonderful food and drink before we play!

If you are interested in joining us for poker, it's every Wednesday at 8pm. There is a £5 entrance fee, with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place (depending on how many play!).

Hope to see you there at some point!

Thanks for that Jaytag, and welcome to VN - have you added it to the VN Calendar?
