They usually have it in the Virgo Fidelis school carpark Sunday mornings 8-1pm. I've not yet managed to catch it but see the signs outside. I don't think its very big

Is there any regular car boot sales in the area? I've been to the one a Virgo Fidelis but it wasn't very good. We have lived in the area for quite a while and keep meaning to sort out all of our stuff and take it to a car boot sale, however we don't see any advertised. Can anyone help?

How about Croydon Flea Market? If nothing else you could pick up a copy of Car Boot Calendar there in order to find out where else to go!

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know where I can pick up some bargain pieces of furniture? I am looking for a car boot sale, antique fair or similar.

I had a look on the Croydon Flea Market website and its not what Im looking for (I'm trying to be very polite!).
Ebay is no good as its blocked by my employer - and I would rather see what Im buying anyway.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

I really don't know if it is still good (maybe someone does) but there is a place in Stafford Road, Wallington, called The Missionary Mart. It used to have several warehouses of old furniture. Another great place is The Bath House in Bell Green. It's an architectural salvage place. As for boot fairs, I think that the Croydon Council or the Croydon Advertiser web page has them listed. Probably the latter.
Also try the Bromley Newshopper. Hayes Farm is good and Layams Farm. There are also auctions in Maidstone which are good.

Sorry, I midded the original post. Penge has a boot fair on Saturday mornings at St John's School, Maple Road. A wide range of everything you might expect to find around the average house and toolshed from brand new to outright junk, but not much furniture. Many stallholders don't put prices on things, so if you're after something specific, go with an idea of what it's worth.

There's an excellent bootsale on in the multi storey car park in Epsom every sunday, i know it's far, but it's really good.

Also there's usually one on in catford, the best way is to have a look in the back of the South London Press newspaper, they're all listed in there!

There's a pretty good one at the Tech college in Battersea on Sundays, starting at 1.00pm, and there's a small one some Sunday mornings at Virgo Fidelis off Crown Lane. There are a few in Croydon, but they tend to be a bit sporadic

You could also try this site for info:

or there's a book carbootcalender that lists most of the good ones round the country

Can anyone recommend a good car boot sale in the Norwood area? Having a big clear out at home and need to get rid of a few bits.

It's not that local but the best one within a reasonable distance is in Battersea - behind the Tech College (we always sell our stuff there).

Battersea Technology College
Battersea Park Road (A3205) SW11
Every Sunday 1.30-5.00pm
Open rain or shine buyers 30p
Sellers must book in advance
Booking line open from Monday to 10am Sunday
Tel: 07941 383 588

Failing that Virgo Fidelis have them fairly regularly on a Sunday but it's not that big.

Penge has a boot fair on Saturday mornings at St John's School, Maple Road although I've never been to that one.

and there's always one on a Sunday at Wimbledon Dog track but I don't think it's worth it.

Horley, Victoria Road Car Park, centre of Town
