We've just had a tidy up and have got a lot of stuff that should do well at a car boot. One man's junk and all that...

Anyway, does anyone know which is the closest to the Palace? And is it any good?

Cheers :)

Rachel,

There is at least one other thread on this (from last autumn, I think). From what I remember, the Sunday one at Virgo Fidelis is not much cop but there is one in Battersea every Sunday also which is great.

Keep meaning to do one ourselves...

Rachel - did you manage to do your boot sale? Where did you go?

We are finally getting our act together for next weekend - have spent the last week sorting stuff. Will probably go to Battersea unless there are any other recommendations nearer to home. Any tips for a first-timer?

I have a feeling that many don't start again until later in the Spring.

We did one last autumn in Raynes Park, which was really good, and I seem to remember that they finished in October and didn't start again until Easter (guess because of the weather and the muddy fields?).

Maybe those that are on hard surfaces run all year round?

The Battersea Tech one mentioned previously is on all year round from 1.30pm on Sundays (and is on a hard surface) . . . it's a good one for buying and selling but can be very crowded. It's not particularly attractive but you can get some really good bargains.

Great. Thanks for these. Think I'll go and check out the Battersea one, then give it a go. Have so much stuff to shift so will be more than one sale I reckon.

Hello Chummies

Me and my friend have a few bits of tat possible articles of interest between us that we'd like to pass on. I understand Crystal Palace football ground does a Sunday Car Boot sale, does anyone have times, entry fee and any other current details?

Thanks in advance.

I just visited the Croydon Fea Market site. Sadly the Fle Market closes on 14th September for reasons best explained by the site. HOWEVER, I think their site has been hacked as I nearly got hijacked by a "porn in your registry checker" whilst there. I woulld't have minded so much if I'd been indulginng myself at www.amateurplumpyoudellers.com or www.barelylegalnewts.biz

I only warn you if you are tempted to click on the Flea Market link.

We wanted to sell off some stuff, and checked out the Crystal Palace FC Sunday market, but it didn't look all that exciting. We ended up on Sunday with a stall at the car boot sale at Hayes Farm in Bromley. We've hardly ever been to car boot sales, so it was quite an eye-opener - so THAT'S what's going on while we're tucked up in bed on a Sunday morning! At 7am there were already hundreds of sellers and buyers there.
I think they are only every fortnight, but there is a recorded message on 0208 462 1186.

I went to Crystal Palace on Sunday for the car boot - it was pretty rubbish not that many buyers and those that did attend weren't prepared to spend much. I came out 20 up after 4 hours.

I only go to a car boot once every year/18 months when decluttering but i wouldn't recomend the one at Crystal Palace.

Does anyone know of any good car boot sales in the Penge area, or slightly further away? It must be this Sunday - we can't make any other day!

There's been a post on car boot sales on here, but it hasn't been updated for a good year now...
