Ok.
So, 7pm on Wednesday the 6th February at Domali's. I'll make sure we have that nice big table by the window, so everyone knows where to go.
I have short dark hair and pink fringe, can't miss me!

I have added details of this meeting to the Events page.

If the evening goes well perhaps we could organise a wiki page so that people can tell at a glance when the next meeting is, details of previous books, on the reading list, etc. It might even be useful to go through previous reading group topics to extract some titles to list out. The best bit about a wiki page is it can be updated to show the latest information so that it isn't necessary to trawl through a topic to be sure about what is happening.

If everyone at the meeting thinks this is a good idea I would suggest using a wiki page title such as Book Club

Just some idle musing regarding the wiki, James, but would it be a good idea to put local businesses on the wiki? Not with people's opinions, just what they do and they can put as many details, pictures etc. up as they like. We can still keep the forum pages for ratings/opinions of restaurants etc.

centralhilleagle, that's an interesting idea. Rather than post off-topic I have posted my reply here...

Nice to meet everyone last night - sorry we didn't see you, pink-fringed Kate.
I've set up a page in the wiki titled Book Club, as suggested, with details of our first book and the next meeting, and updated the Events page.
James, I seemed to have reached the limits of my technical abilities and am struggling to enter a link here - can you help???

It was nice meeting everyone last night at Domalis. We missed you Snowbunny.

Just to let you know that as agreed I have e:mailed bookseller crow to order in 9 copies of The Gathering by Anne Enright so that we may support our local shops and purchase from them.

I have asked them to post on Virtual Norwood when they have arrived.

Well done with setting up the wiki pages!

If you want to create a link to the wiki in a forum topic use this format...

[ wiki ]Book Club[ /wiki ] (and take out the spaces inside the square brackets)

e.g. Book Club
